Common questions

Do I need an appointment, or do you take walk-ins?+

We work by appointment to keep waiting times short, but we keep a few same-day slots for urgent problems. If you are in pain, call +94 81 223 4567 and we will fit you in the same day whenever possible.

Where exactly is the clinic and is there parking?+

We are at 142 Peradeniya Road, Kandy — about 5 minutes from the Kandy clock tower, next to Sampath Bank. There is free customer parking behind the building, and the William Gopallawa Mawatha bus stop is a 2-minute walk away.

Do you treat children?+

Yes. We see children from age 3 upwards and Dr. Nuwan specialises in paediatric dentistry. First visits for young children are kept short and gentle — usually just a check and a chat so they feel comfortable.

Is treatment painful?+

We use modern painless anaesthesia techniques and topical numbing gel before injections. Most patients tell us the experience was far more comfortable than they expected. Nervous patients can ask for extra time — we never rush.

What payment methods do you accept?+

Cash, all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and bank transfer. For treatments over LKR 50,000 (like crowns or root canals) we offer an interest-free two-instalment plan.

Do you accept insurance?+

We provide detailed receipts and treatment reports that you can submit to any Sri Lankan insurer for reimbursement. We have direct billing arrangements with AIA and Ceylinco health policies — bring your policy card to your visit.

What should I do in a dental emergency?+

Call us on +94 81 223 4567 during opening hours and we will see you the same day. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist (in milk if possible) and come immediately — time matters. Outside opening hours, Kandy General Hospital has an emergency dental unit.

How often should I have a check-up?+

Every six months for most people. Regular check-ups catch problems early, when treatment is simpler and cheaper. If you have gum disease or braces, we may recommend visits every 3–4 months.
